Portrait 083109

I’ve haven’t done any portrait work for some time, so I figured that now would be a good time to start. 20 min, 2B pencil. Admittedly, it looks a little funky, but you know the rule – when using pencil, no erasing allowed!

I don’t think it looks funky at all.

I think extra lines work well 🙂 I always try to refrain from erasing any lines even when digi-sketching on a tablet, but sometimes a little clean-up is in order.

Being a fine artist, gone Illustrator for 20 years, now trying to get back to fine art, I appreciate the loose but flowing movement. Not to mention the subtle emotions caught even with out eye contact. Very nice!
