Domo-kun (Part 1)

Project brief: Picture frame holder. Process includes the creation and use of a mold.

For this project, the decision to go with Domo-kun was an easy one. If I did it right, the mold and casting would be a singular process (which it was!). Anyways, the first step was building and baking the prototype with Fema clay.

The next step was creation of the mold. That part was easy… too bad removing the Domo-kun prototype sucked!

After casting two models, everything was sanded down and ready for paints

As soon as I get a nice picture to put in the frame, I’ll take and show final pics. Peace.
