Sketch section ready!

I haven’t posted in a while. It’s not to say that I’ve been doing nothing, but some stuff I haven’t yet finished and others need a green light approval. However, the sketch section is slowly coming together, so while it may be old to some of you, it’s new for others!

Le Vice Flier

Long story short: my Macbook has been down since Friday (getting repaired), was able to score some studio time, and am now updating. Hand drawn/inked flier for Le Vice.

Okay… gotta remember to get the form correct before going into the details (super bad habit!). 25 min, blue ball point.

Thanks for the comments on the prev. post

Sketchies_052209

On occasion, I visit Richmond High and spend some time with the sketchbook club that was started a little over a month ago. It’s always cool to see what they’ve sketched since I’ve seen them last. Anyways, before the club started (a little after 10am), I did some doodles attempting to emulate their various artistic interests (although in a style of my own!).

Potrero Hill

In April, I got a freelance gig from Big Think Studios. They had wanted to make a neighborhood shirt for Potrero Hill (where they’re located), and asked that I do the illustration work. It was finished in mid-April, but based on my recent shirt escapades, I remembered that I had never got around to sharing this. So, here it is:

And I’m not sure what they’ll do with it regarding size and text, but I gave them a mockup to help them visualize it

Lastly, a big THANK YOU to everyone who bought one of my EKGM shirts. That first run is completely SOLD OUT. Thanks for being so awesome!

More Xpress Illustrations

We’re at issue no. 3 for Xpress, and it couldn’t have come at a worse time! School is winding down, and I have other important (way more important) classes to attend to – but a commitment is a commitment, so here are 2 of my contributions to the last mag.

New Alex Lee Flier

The homie Alex Lee needed an emergency flier for an upcoming show, so as soon as I came back from my weekend adventure, I knocked one out. I tell you what, it’s always nice to see what I can actually bust out within a short period of time.

Updates

Sorry about the lack of updates lately. I’ve been fortunate enough to be working on a couple of paid projects, but until I get a green light, I can’t share any of it :( Also, between those and school, I’ve have very little time to do any stuff for myself – including just doodles in my sketchbook :( However, I did do a couple of pics for a story in the school mag. I was pressed for time with both of them, so they don’t really get my seal of approval, but it just goes to show that my craft still requires a lot of work.

Sketchies: a roundup

The following are some sketches from my book dated as far back as Feb 25. The first image is a roundup of sketches from Feb 25 through Mar 4 and the second image from yesterday. BTW, check out EKGM, as it has some stuff from me that I don’t feature here as well as stuff and inspirations from other talented artists (including the Gretch).
