A new tat idea

Here’s the 1st part of a new tat for my sister

Rebellion Illustration

While in SD, I hooked up with the homie Rebellion, and after a few words, a few beers, and a few bucks, we finally put in motion to create an illustration for promotional pieces. As with any project, the first part is creating some roughs. These are probably less than 2″ square:

I didn’t have to create too many, since I’ve worked with him before and I had a good idea as to what he wanted. Nonetheless, I ended up vectorizing all three, but as they began to take shape, one definitely stood out from the pack. Moving forward, I created both a color and b/w version of the top sketch:

Pardon the length between posts – I’ve been fortunate enough to be busy these past couple months. I’m on the grind again, so expect more regularity with posts (re: not a month!)

Seeing you in action is a joke

Sorry it took so long… but here it is:

btw, click the “Carbonmade Portfolio” link to the right for the updated Dhalsim

Don’t get it twisted

Inspired by the earlier Blanka post (that’s going to be redone completely) and just one of more to come. Oh yeah, it was ugly, but GO RAIDERS!!!

Vector Goblin (stage 1)

As seen, for things like such, I’m normally a Photoshop guy. However, I’m trying to be more of an Illustrator guy, so I’ve been working at turning this into a vector goblin. With that said, this will be officially “stage 1″.

Sketchies_052209

On occasion, I visit Richmond High and spend some time with the sketchbook club that was started a little over a month ago. It’s always cool to see what they’ve sketched since I’ve seen them last. Anyways, before the club started (a little after 10am), I did some doodles attempting to emulate their various artistic interests (although in a style of my own!).

More Xpress Illustrations

We’re at issue no. 3 for Xpress, and it couldn’t have come at a worse time! School is winding down, and I have other important (way more important) classes to attend to – but a commitment is a commitment, so here are 2 of my contributions to the last mag.

Updates

Sorry about the lack of updates lately. I’ve been fortunate enough to be working on a couple of paid projects, but until I get a green light, I can’t share any of it :( Also, between those and school, I’ve have very little time to do any stuff for myself – including just doodles in my sketchbook :( However, I did do a couple of pics for a story in the school mag. I was pressed for time with both of them, so they don’t really get my seal of approval, but it just goes to show that my craft still requires a lot of work.

Sketchies 020609

My newest sketchbook has more randomness than anything, but I’ve singled out some of the funner things to share with you.

Old Sketchbook

I’m in dire need of drawing practice. The saying is true, “you don’t use it, you lose it”. This is an oldie (Dec 06), but it represents what I’d again like to be doing, so expect a newie soon.
