Vector Art: Blanka

As I continued to chip away at my current vector project, I decided to throw a change-up and transform the guy into Blanka (Zhen, you remember me saying this?). Anyways, here’s where it’s currently at:

Stencil (2 of 3)

I wrapped this one up (inks) on the 22nd, and with my friends at Telescope, have begun the cutting process. Looking back at the rooster one, it must have taken forever (by myself), because this one is certainly taken longer than expected. I placed my phone by the picture for scale purposes.

Vector Goblin (stage 1)

As seen, for things like such, I’m normally a Photoshop guy. However, I’m trying to be more of an Illustrator guy, so I’ve been working at turning this into a vector goblin. With that said, this will be officially “stage 1″.

Stencil WIP (2 of 3)

Here’s the finished inks for the 2nd stencil. While I could call it a day, I think I’m going to be adding some bubbles to give it more movement, so consider this just a preliminary version.

Stencil (1 of 3)

This is an oldie but goodie. When I lived in SD, my neighbor Asid put me on to stencils. For a moment, I was all about them. So when I first relocated back to the Bay, I drew and cut a super big one (I placed a DVD cover by it to show scale). Recently, I was convinced to turn it into part of a greater whole (re: I’m making 2 more in a similar style). So, since the inks for the 2nd one are almost done, I felt that it was only appropriate that I show the one that started it all. You may have seen it before in a previous post, but not the inks… so let’s make it official!

Change

It was only a matter of time (a year later) for me to jump on this poster bandwagon. The handsome guy featured is my nephew who (like it implies) drools like nobody’s business!

Town Biz

I’ve been exploring some new things with Illustrator and came up with this:

Illustrator Tutorials – July 11th

Circle Lounge (finished)

I tried a few things, but decided to keep it fairly simple.

Safarees – MacWorld Ad

To help promote sales of the Safarees applications, a 1/16 page ad was bought for the September MacWorld publication. Of course, being the artist, I got the green light to produce the ad. So without anymore words, here it is:
